Hi, I'm Debbie Inglis and thank you for visiting Square Two Development's web site.

About me

I set up Square Two Development in 2008, after coaching managers and team leaders (business coaching) and private individuals (life coaching) for 4 years. Before that I was a teacher for 16 years in a range of roles, including deputy head, acting headteacher and local authority consultant.

I thoroughly enjoyed each one, particularly the consultancy role, where I honed my training and mentoring skills. I think this is what naturally took me down the coaching route, and sparked my desire to work in partnership with people in the workplace, helping them to make the most of their skills / strengths, and develop confidence in areas where they felt they were lacking.

Having come across headteachers, teachers and teaching assistants through my life coaching business, I found I was able to support and develop them by combining my extensive education background, with my personal development and coaching skills to remain impartial, non-judgemental and help them find a range of possible solutions to their current situations.

This led to the main focus of Square Two being Coaching in Schools. I enjoy working with headteachers and senior leadership teams, who have a passion for what they do, love a challenge, and want to bring out the best in themselves, as well as the rest of the staff. I also know the pressures class teachers face, and find it rewarding to work with teachers and teaching assistants to ensure an effective work-life balance, and positive and productive working relationships.

My continued passion for child development has meant I have also been able to apply my coaching knowledge and skills to train teachers to use coaching with children; most recently to help children described as having social, emotional and behavioural needs. Contact me if you're interested in this type of training for your school.

I've recently become the Vice Chair of an enthusiastic Governing Body and am welcoming the challenges and successes which that brings!

Qualifications and CPD

I gained my first coaching qualification in 2004, then did a PGCert at Derby University in Life and Business Coaching. I've also trained in NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming), which I use to enrich my coaching work, and have qualified in advanced Performance Coaching.

I have regular coaching supervision and use my own coach to ensure I stay sharp and can provide the best service to you!

About you

You will always receive a tailor-made service to suit your development needs.

As I am not linked to a local authority, if you're a school, you'll get a totally independent service. If you are currently under a LA support programme, the coaching / training service you choose would be tailored to maximise or complement this. Despite having an educational background, and empathy with educational issues, my coaching skills mean that I will remain objective, and help you find solutions that are most appropriate for your situation, rather than impose solutions I have used before.

The approach you will see and feel will be one of positive challenge. You will receive honest feedback provided from an objective perspective.
